I have had females that deliver much later than that and have no problems. Some females as they get older tend to conceive later in their heat cycle. I have had some females go 69 and 70 days. As long as the puppies are moving, she has a clear discharge and does not appear to be in distress I would not worry. Of course if you are worried you can take her to the vet. I remember with my first yorkie, Dixie, when she had her second litter, it was around day 69 and she had not had her pups yet. I was so worried because she had had milk for a whole week. I decided to take her to the vet and he just looked at her and said she was fine, don't worry she will have them soon. I took her home and within two hours she had a pup. Dixie was 5 1/2 lbs and she never showed much indication before she had her pups. No digging or anything. I pray you have a safe whelping. Please keep us posted. |
