That's very normal.
Dogs need about 1 ounce of water per pound of weight a day.
With kibble they get almost no water from their food, so a 6 pound dog would need to drink about 6 ounces per day. With homecooked it is about 75% moisture. A cup of food would be about 3/4 cup (6 ounces) moisture or water, so they don't need to drink to meet their needs...
