I email both organization, forwarded this information on to all of my friends and asked them to let both of these organization know about Petland and their business practices.

As for hooking sick kids up with shelter dogs personally I just cannot see that happening. What kid doesn't love a puppy and as much as I would love to see more shelter dogs go to good home I believe that a child who really would like a puppy while battling a life threatening disease should be allowed to have a healthy, quality pet that doesn't come from Petland. I am looking at the bigger picture of a sick child receiving a puppy from a mill, it getting sick and also having a lifelong medical condition. That would really break my heart as I am sure it would for the Make a Wish foundation as well.

What is upsetting to me also it the Petland has this information plastered on their website like they are good and caring people giving puppies to Make A Wish and St. Jude when all they are really doing is supporting puppy mills. I personally do not see anything wrong with someone purchasing a puppy from a reputable breeder. There would be far less animals in shelter if this was done. That really gets my blood boiling about this is that when a child is sick and they receive a puppy from Make A Wish that was donated by Petland that child's illness has touched so many lives. Now those people involved in that child's life will remember that Petland was wonderful and gave a puppy to a sick kid. Can you wrap your mind around this? I wholeheartedly believe in what Make A Wish and St. Jude does from children but I will BEAT they have no idea what it means by taking a puppy from them. The trickle down of what this Wish or care does and the perpetuation of the suffering of the dogs living in the mills. Not only that but the girl that I read about was 17 yrs old and received a Bulldog puppy last week from Petland. At what point do you think she will put two and two together and realize exactly what she has. That is heartbreaking to me.

I am also shocked that more people are not outraged by this connection and that I had to dig through so many posts to even find and respond back to this again. I want to bump this up so that more people are aware of what is going on with Petland. Make A Wish and St. Jude can continue to do good without associating themselves with Petland~IMO. I personally sent out email yesterday and am hoping that everyone else that reads this will do so as well.
