I did have his bile acids tested...once at 5 months old and it was in the normal range (before he had seizures)...and then again just the other week, thank goodness we decided to test him again, and this time the post came back at 85 which is high...
He is now on a low protein diet and getting supplements. He had the special ultra-sound done and they did not see any shunts... so most likley he has a bunch of small shunts...
He is also getting 4 supplements a day along with the low potein diet.... my vet is away on vacation and once she gets back I am going to ask her about the protein c-test....
One of my own dogs has MVD so luckliy I had already most of the supplements he needed...
Emerson appears to be doing okay...and am hoping that the supplements are helping to him and he lactulose is ridding him of any toxins he has in his system...
