Scheduled feedings work great.
I have done this with all my babies, but always leave water down 24/7.
With young puppies, just feed more often, but put it up after a few minutes if they don't eat it.
With the housebreaking, you really have to keep them in your sight at all times, after they eat and play or sleep, take them out, or to the pad or wherever you have set up for elimination. Don't give them the opportunity to have a mistake, set them up for success
