Mine is like that too. I wonder about it sometimes. I generally take him outside for at least an hour every day + 30 minutes of evening play, and maybe some training, cuddling, etc.
Other than that, he's sleeping, eating, or pooping. Actually he does spend a fair amount of time starting into space... sometimes I wonder if he's bored. He tends to get barkier if he hasn't had a lot of exercise, so I use that as a gauge of his activity level.
