I am so sorry that you have had to deal with such aggravating comments. Believe me, I have had to deal with a few myself.
Bottom line, you have no control over the comments that others make. Some people "raise themselves by putting others down". And others may be asking out of of a sincere quest for knowledge. Little Maddy looks like an adorable Yorkie to me.
I get the "teacup" question about Peppy all the time - and if I perceive that people are asking for knowledge I explain, if they are asking to be rude I tend to answer in kind.
