I had the same problem w/Mimi throwing up yellow bile in the past. My vet said it was a sign of an empty stomach & it could also be the 'anticiaption' of food before meal time. I always make sure she gets a snack before bed time & try to stick to a regular schedule when feeding. Don't worry about spoiling Thor w/chicken & rice, eventually, they all start to eat kibble again.
