There are a lot of factors that should be considered in setting the price of a stud service. I feel if a dog is a champion or from good lineage then the price of the stud service should be much higher than if the stud did not have a good pedigree. If the dog is unproven then I think the service should be a bit less than that of a proven stud. Also, keep in mind that some people offer their pets for stud that know nothing about breeding and just because they are asking a certain amount does not mean they will ever get it. Personally I do not like to stud my dogs out but I have on a few occasions, most of the time for a $300 fee and once for pick of the litter. I also think the price of the stud fee might vary depending on where you live.
