Default Help, Romeo is feeling sick

Romeo doesn't seem himself today. The last couple of days his stools have been really soft but I didn't worry too much because he continued to eat like a little pig and acted his usual self. But this afternoon (of course Saturday afternoon when the vet is closed for the weekend) he is just not himself. He is laying in the kitchen on the floor in a sunny spot. He will come if we call him but not in his usual perky way. He just threw up what looked like his dog food. He is not coughing and does not have a runny nose. I looked up vomiting and diarrhea in dogs and the internet said to take all food and water away for several hours and than offer just water to see if it stays down. Next offer white rice and chicken. I wanted to hear from Yorkie experts. What do you do when your little ones are sick? Thanks
