Very interesting! I've been coming across this lately in some of my research. Along with some scary stuff about vaccinations. I think it is entirely possible to have an intact pup with no accidental pregancies. In fact, my collie who passed away recently at age 12, was intact and never had a pregnangy. Never had any problems whatsoever, no intact males hanging around, no close calls. But I do think that its a good idea for most to spay and neuter and if you are going to prevent a pregnancy, you have to be very responsilbe and very vigilant. But I also think that people do need to question things and make educated decisions. For every pro, it seems there is a con. It's hard to know what the right thing to do is. Thanks to the original poster. I think that you were not advocating that everyone keep their dogs intact just that people make informed decisions and I don't see anything wrong with that! |
