Let me express my sincerest sympathy. This makes the rule at our house/pool, even more clearer. When the boys are out, someone is also out, and awake, watching them. We have had ducks land/swim around in the "cement pond" and the boys love to chase the lizards and squirrels that dare to come into the yard or chase the bubbles from the pool jets. They have fallen into the pool a couple of times already, thankfully I was there to fish them out. Never in a rush to make sure that the guys are locked in the house before I/we leave.
