"OMG why would you put your dog in that sweater? I think that is SO cruel. It doesn't look comfortable."
"It's 30 degrees out and my dog doesn't have an undercoat like yours has and she could freeze to death."
"I just don't understand people 'like you'"
"No one asked you to."
"Well you're just rude."
"No rude would be me saying something like "let's make a deal. If you don't insult my dogs fashion sense she won't insult you by asking which beautician butchered your hair"
And we walked away smiling at the other small breed owner who had been insulted by her moments before..........
I was so proud. I usually don't handle confrontation well and NEVER say what I think 5 minutes after and wish I would have said.
