Cliffhanger To be perfectly honest I think everyone who breeds Yorkies have gotten a pup they wondered about, even when your breeding program is very specific and careful. But usually when these pups have showed up(not very often) I have looked for special homes and certainly didn't charge full price. If you read about the history of Yorkshire Terriers you read they were developed from several other older breeds and they were larger than todays Yorkies Then were bred down to very small sizes for the companion that they are today. I looked into showing because I have had a couple of babies that were very much to standard. But when I read about what they have to go through with their hair, I thought that was very unnatural and harsh treatment. So I backed off showing. I breed for temperment and health first and standard looks last. I love YorkieTalk because when one of my pups grew to 16lbs I was very upset and felt really bad, but I have learned on this site that is happens quite often.
