I think she was referring to hair texture. Silky coated yorkies typically have a metallic looking hair that is sometimes described as gunmetal or charcoal grey. This is usally referred to as "blue, but it actually more charcoal. Cotton coats are typically a black black. This is the coloring on the saddle of the dog. The second color she gave you is the face coloring, and this can range from beige to rich gold.
