I haven't brought Genghis "camping", but I have brought him hiking on trails and one thing to be careful about is making sure you get all the thorns and pokey things out of their fur after or you're sure to get painful mattes. My husband and I spend a whole hour picking them out. We found over 40 spirally pokey things, and it was only about and hour and a half walk, and we were on a firetrail. I would bring a comb and a brush. Also I found it much easier to take out with shampoo.
I would still take Genghis on hikes, cause he LOVES the outdoors. There is just a lot of maintenance when you get back. |
