He even goes to the door to go out sometimes (a work in progress).

Our issue is that he has yet to poop outside! He will go on a nice walk, go pee, try to eat the leaves, grass, lay down, etc...but then come in and poop on the carpet or the pee pad (Ive wised up after the first few times so started putting him in the gated kitchen with his pee pad right when we come inside)....

The pee pad is better than the carpet---but How do I transition him to outside for both pee and poo? We were hoping to eliminate pee pads all together, would it maybe be smarter to have them as a back up in the kitchen afterall??? Please advise what you would do!

well you are already ahead of me ...my puppy won't even poop or pee outside...even spending hours on end outside she will hold it in until she gets to her pee pad. and she is about 14 weeks so you would think she would do it where ever since she is not full y trained but no luck...this is my goal this summer to potty trained her outside. goodluck to you and give me your advise if ever she starts pooping outside
