 Yorkie puppy born a blue/chocolate color
Hello, I am new to this site but am blessed to have found it. I am hoping someone will be able to help me with something I heard about newborn yorkie pups. I have a 4 lb female that was bred to a 3 1/2 lb male. She delivered one puppy 3 days ago. The puppy seems to be doing well, gaining weight, strong and active. This puppy is a blue/chocolate color and I have never seen this before so I started trying to find some info on it. One site said that a "blue born pup" will only survive for a few days and if it does live, that it will eventually loose all of its hair and get leathery skin that is very painful to the dog. They recommended that I have the pup euthanized. This is very disturbing to me and I want to find out all that I can before even considering doing this.
