Awwww... Makes me want to buy my next Yorkie baby from Natalie!! How sweet of you! You, too, Michele.
Keven, how wonderful and thoughtful of you to do this for your mom! I can't think of anything that you could have done to help her fight through her illness.
When my Mother-in-law came home from a three month stay in the hospital with breast cancer, the very first words out of her mouth as the paramedics brought her in were to call her Mini-Pin's name when she saw him. She had the biggest smile on her face. I have never forgotten it. She only lived four days after she came home from the hospital, but those four days, her dog laid right by her side and gave her some comfort. Interestingly, one of the things that she "saw" the day before she died was her childhood dog. She just smiled and waved and said, "I see my grandma and Jimmy (her dog from her childhood, she explained)". Brings tears to my eyes still today to know that she was not going to be alone in her journey.
I know your mother will have a better outcome in fighting her illness. I'll keep her in my prayers. Bless you for all that you are doing for her. |
