She is still very young and her *free* area needs to be contained. Too much freedom is scarey for young pups and you'll never get her trained. Even when you are home and watching her, her area needs to be contained.
Yes, taking her outside every 1/2 hour to 1 hour is how to train her to go outside. Get a GOOD potty treat. I like Peanut Butter Chips from the baking isle. They are small and very effective. ONLY use this for Good Outside Potty. You want her to get excited and strill to please you so SHE gets that Good Treat! And Postive Praises - Good Girl
