Actually most yorkie breeders are right in there helping their bitches when they're whelping. They actually should only eat 1/2 to 1 afterbirth, otherwise, they can get sick from eating too many of them. I'm sorry, I still think it's terrible that a 10 mo old puppy is going to have babies. My little girl is 10 mos and of course, she is too small to breed to begin with, but to me, she has so much puppy in her still that I just could never put her through that even if she was big enough.
