Senator Kennedy gave them the dog as a special gift...he has 3 Porties of his own and was sure one would be perfect for the kids. Malia has allergies, and Porties are known to be "hypoallergenic." I think little Bo will make the girls happy. I think every child should have a dog...makes for better grownups later on.
Who knows...could help our poor exhausted Prez chill out as well. Neither he nor Michelle have ever had a dog. Can you even imagine that kind of deprivation???
