I actually have a little blanket in the bottom of mine just for some added cushioning because I keep mine in my kitchen on ceramic tile. I also have it sitting on top of an old mattress pad. (Yep, Sophie is spoiled). In the grass would be fine. Concrete and digging may eventually wear it thin. If you're worried about digging and tearing just put something in the bottom. To me, vinyl gets hot, so whether winter or summer I'd probably still line the bottom with something. This would put a barrier between the vinyl if Kia would start to dig. Sophie knows this is her special place. She treats it as her home and doesn't potty or act up in there. it's funny, actually. She'll dig in my carpet, my sofa, my bed...but she doesn't do it in her own little "place". So maybe Kia will be the same way? |
Thank you for not minding the question's. I think I would put it on a soft mat at the campsite then, and also put a pad in the bottom and a soft blankie. Yes, vinyl does get hot summer & winter.
I 'hope' Kia will be the same as Sophie.
She is such a little character. At night, she sleeps at tight to my neck as she can on my pillow. But she doesn't 'dig' in my pillow, just my blankets, and my couch, and her beds. (which are so numerous throughout the house, a stranger might think we have more than 2 little Yorkie's

)
