same thoughts were going through my head as well!!
my arrogant shi-tzu that disappeared one day. my grandma's many cats that i hated and bullied. my grandpa's parrot that i taught bad words and insults to. my mom's stinky rabbits that seemed to always be having babies and how we always stress over finding new homes for those babies or worrying that the mom might get stressed and eat her own babies
(happened once when i touched those babies too early and left my scent all over them....feel extremely guilty). my hamster that was more like a chia plant to me than a hamster, allowing me to cut his long fur in any style i liked.
