I get the comments about Maximus too. "you're making him gender confused". <insert rolled eyes> whatever. I just let it roll off for the most part. I prefer his hair up too. I always tell them it's cheaper to buy the hair bands than prescription glasses for dogs. ROFLOL

I have a tendency to think all yorkies are girls too. I saw one just groomed at the pet boutique (same day Maximus had an appt.) and even after they said "he", I referred to their pup as a she. He was just too pretty to be a boy. lol So, I guess I can kind of understand for misunderstanding, but the "trying to be funny" comments I can live without.
