I've owned both. I had a male yorkie in the past and he was affectionate and loving. I now own a female and she is just as affectionate if not more. She will play with everyone in my home but, always comes back to her momma in the end and when we go out in the car she wants to be on my lap which makes me extra happy that I am the one she loves the most. So to answer your question I would do what everyone here has suggested go play with the and see which one you click with the most
