Donna Hall was not involved in the BYA
Donna was responsible for importing the first Biewer to North America and Founded the Biewer Club of American also known as The American Biewer Club. She petitioned IABCA and NAKC at that time and the first Biewers were shown in early 2003.
The Original Standard was revised to include black coloration on the saddle
known as the UCI Rvd refrence # 00/490 the Biewers have been shown under this recognized " universal standard"since.

Donna was instrumental in the introduction of this splendid little breed to North America and for that I am truly greatful.

Donna Hall was the first to report liver shunt in her Biewer and I believe it set in motion the first alarm and scare for those breeders who had lines from Decoration. This happened back in 2004 when Donna Hall published her letter from Maria Lelimho from the Original Terri Shumsky Fanny Mae Liver Shunt Fund, to the breeder in Germany to start watching their lines and work with the health of this beautiful breed.
This information, though alarming, was good for breeders to know because it set in motion dedicated breeders who had this line to either spay/neutar or very carefully watch their lines and breed out from there. Even though this happened 5 years ago, it is still very fresh in breeders minds as beautiful Biewers were being produced from this line until the walls started crashing in. |
