Your little boy is showing is dominant side to make sure the new dog won't take over.
Here Are a few things you can do to help the process:

If any of the dog isn't fix... IT'S TIME TO DO IT!

If your dog sleep in your bed, stop that for now. It will encourage his dominant behaviors.

Walk the dogs together, that will help them bond as a pack.

When you watch TV, try to have both dog next ( not on) to you.
Do not pet them much. Napping together will also help bond.

If they sleep in a crate, but them close ( but not facing or touching) to each other. They will get use to be together in a safe way.

For now, you should buy some belly band for your male.

Good luck .
