I've read in several places to never clean up the mess when they can see you. For the first few weeks of life the mother will clean up after the puppies, which makes the pups assume it's ok to go, and then after those first few weeks the mother disciplines and takes them outside so that they learn not to mess in their "den". I usually have my boyfriend take Kya to the other room, or if it's just us 2, I put her in my room or in her crate while I clean up the mess. Good luck! If you catch her in the act try picking her up and taking her where you want her to go, then praise and reward!
