I would just be a little cautious due to skin irritations or whatever. I personally wouldn't dye my dog's hair just because I think it's a little too silly (no offense, JMO) and I'm just worried about reactions, especially with Chip cause he's sooooo sensitive to everything. JMO. If you want to do it, then obviously, go ahead. You know what would be cute? Blue and green!
