When a female dog goes into heat her body will go through all the changes it would as if she had been bred and got pregnant. Sometimes the symptoms will last as long a 63 days. She may act differently than she did before her heat cycle. She may lay around and she may not be as playful but after two months she should be back to normal. The heat cycle will last 3 weeks but it will take longer for her vulva to get back to normal size. My recommendation would be to have her spayed in about 2 to 3 months. Good luck with your baby.
