I used them on Ben when he was a puppy. The idea is that they will not like the wet near them so they will stop wetting when they are on. Then you take them off and take them outside to their designated pee spot. Put them back on when they come inside. Ben did not like his either. He tried to rub it off for the first day but after that he resigned himself to it. I wound up not using them all that much. But they were nice if we went somewhere to visit, just in case. Now that he has started to mark, I have ordered more of them. So, we will try the other use now that he has started this behavior.
