I got a 8wks. old puppy back in Feb. we weren't home one hour and it had diaheria with blood in it. Took her to vet tested for coccidia. I called the breeder to let her know because vet was sure the other pups had it too. The vet said we were sold a sick puppy. I was furious at the breeder. She claimed she didn't know she was sick. Vet gave him antibotics. Dixie would not eat and pooped constantly. I was forcing gator ade in her to keep her from dehydration. She wouln't eat either. Took her back to vet after 3 days she lost 1lb. She was going down hill and didn't have the energy to fight back. My husband called the breeder and demanded our money back. We had 2 other little yorkies and we didn't want to risk them getting it. Keep them apart. We took Dixie back and got our money. I was in tears, I had already become attached to her, but I knew it was the right thing to do. I knew in my heart she wasn't going to make it. Sorry to get so lengthy, but I just wanted to let you know what coccidia can do so quickly.
