I don't remember when Shelby had her surgery, or what grade her LP was. One thing to consider- when we were talking with the surgeon before we scheduled surgery, one of the things that solidified our decision was when he said the longer the LP goes on, the more chance for ligament damage. Could the ACL have possibly been damaged before surgery, and is now causing problems?
I am PRAYING that rest will heal this. No baby should have to go through a surgery like this more than once. Please, please, please keep us updated on Shelby. |
Shelby had both legs done. One knee was pretty bad.... it was out and wouldn't go back, the other not quite as bad, it would stay in but not for long. (I think a grade 3 or 4 and a grade 2.... I can't remember exactly, and don't have her paper work in front of me now). Her ACL was fine when she had her surgery...... I am fully assured of this. Our ortho vet is very good and wouldn't have missed this...... and I think we would have seen signs of it. Our surgeon also told us before the LP surgery that it would decrease the chances..... not prevent problems with ACL's. I asked him about that and he said that he has had a few cases (usually those that have more severe patella issues, like Shelby's).
Thanks so much for your input....... It is so good to get as much info as possible... If you can remember anything else..... that would be great! Also thanks for your thoughts and well wishes...... we need them!!!....
