All of these questions could be answered differently. Depending on how the yorkie was raised and such.
Depending on temperment, I think the Yorkie would be fine alone for at least 4-5 hours. Just make sure she has a few toys to play with.
2) If she's spayed, she wont have a period. But if she's not, she'll have a period. You can buy diapers for this. Or get her spayed if you don't plan on her having babies. :P
3) They vary in size. Mine is 4lbs right now and will get to about 7. Some of them get to 12. Some stay smaller than 3lbs. Depends really on the parents of the pup. Ask how big her parents were to find out exactly.
4) The ideal Yorkshire Terrier character or "personality" is described with a "carriage very upright" and "conveying an important air". Though small, the Yorkshire Terrier is intelligent and active, and should not show the soft temperament seen in
lapdogs.
Boldness: The Yorkshire Terrier breed is bold but not
aggressive; Animal behaviorist
Ian Dunbar writes about the Yorkshire Terrier that "Bold is what you get when you mix great
inquisitiveness, or the instinct to protect, with
self confidence."

5) This is a silly question. Hehe. If you don't really know the owner I would try to talk to her/him more and get to know more about the dog you want to take home.
Also, a bit of advice, do a lot of research on this breed of dog that you're interested in. It took me nearly a year before I decided I wanted a Yorkshire Terrier. And even then a few more months to find a good pup and breeder. Do lots of background checks and get as much info you can on the owner. Ask around. You can never be too safe!
Hope this helps you!
