| Hi and Welcome to YorkieTalk! Your baby is going to be a wonderful addition to your family. If she is more Yorkie than Maltese you probably will have to take a little longer to potty train her. Of course, it's not always the case, but it tends to be pretty common. Both of mine (Mia & Max) took at least a year to train with no accidents. Max took longer because he just wasn't "into it"! LOL! He is all about being a boy and playing with toys. I honestly believe that he had NO clue what we were talking about. Mia, on the other hand, pee pee'd on the pad quickly but decided that she did not like people watching her poo. Anyway, they are housetrained now, and it did take some patience... but they are well worth. You just have to be consistant and use positive reinforcement. The best tip I can give you is to "not" free feed. If you have her on a schedule you can time when she needs to go do her business after consuming food - you'll know when to take her and show her where to do it. Oh, and you probably should post this in the general or training forum. This one is for pictures. I know it takes time to get around here if you haven't been on before. Good Luck and let us know how she does!!
