Jackson is sort of like this. Not really "fearful" just a little weary. I've taken him to little league kids baseball games and such and if someone approaches, he sort of backs up a bit. Once he's been around you for five minutes though, he's usually good and will love the person. I'm glad he's like that, though. It's almost like he waits for my approval to know the person is OK and then it makes him OK. He won't allow a stranger to come and just pick him up or pet him unless he's been around them for a good hour or so. He takes to women a lot faster than men too. Sorry, I don't really have any tips for you except to bring him in a lot of public places and get him used to other people.
