Sounds like you might need to put him on a feeding schedule. It's funny, my little girl Luna will do the same thing with her food, once in a while. She will just stuff herself silly, then run around and play, then puke
They are free fed. Most of the time, they'll only eat their kibbles if someone's in the room with them. Weird!
