I wonder if humping is truly about dominance, since it seems like a lot of yorkies here have taken teddy bears on as sex partners. My theory is that humping feels good, which is why dogs do it. However, it's not something a dog would do to a higher ranking pack member, which is where dominance comes in.

Also, many domesticated animals try to breed with their caretakers, so I wonder if that's what motivates some dogs to try humping their owners, rather than as a dominance challenge.
