You shouldn't have to shampoo your cat now that she is clean. Some people do but it really isn't necessary. They groom themselves all the time.
Her belly may look big because she is a kitten. If she is as young as you think, you may need to give her some supplemental milk type of food. I would ask the people at the pet store, they should be able to help you, for sure ask the manager to be safe.
You should probably think about a brush for her as they shed so she will ingest hair and she will love to be brushed.
Oh, if she is in the expen, don't be surprised if she climbs out, cats do that very easily. lol. Good luck in find that cutie a home.
