This happened to my boys last summer a few times. They love to run around the pool area with my bfs kids and jump in the pool... but its all cement. So their pads and nails would wear down. They won't keep on shoes, or a bandage. I had to let it go and at the end of the days I would clean it well and put neosporin on it. I would let them lay with me most of the night and that kept them off it and by morning they were good to go again.
