The pom we had when I was kid was a yapper, Barked if the wind blew. He didnt like really little kids but over all was a good dog. (we didnt get him as a pup) My sister in law just got a pom (also an adult) and he too is a huge barker and aggressive towards other dogs but friendly with people/kids. I think with the right training poms can be a great dog.
