I feel your pain, I really do. It honestly seems like they know what they are doing and he's peeing on the carpet just to spite you, doesn't it??? Well, he's not, but it sounds like he's confused on where he's supposed to go. My advice is to take him out more, not just 1.5 - 2 hours. Our little guy Samson was going out every half hour - 1 hour when he was that young. Sometimes even every half hour if he was playing a lot or drinking water. Don't give Rupert the chance to go on the carpet. Keep taking him outside quite often and reward him when he goes. If you take him out and he doesn't go, don't reward, but then place him in his crate for 10 - 15 minutes. Try again. Repeat until he goes and you reward him with either praise or a treat. Then allow him into his area to play for a while. Then take him out 1/2 hour - 1 hour later. I know it's hard and frustrating, but it will work and he will catch on. |
