It sounds like your older dog going outside has helped him. BONUS!!! lol
I would leave a pad down in case but I would definately encourage the outside potty.
Potty training can be one of the most frustrating things to go through and it sounds like your automatically steps ahead with this little one. Congratulations... and I'm jealous.
