They had your dog for two years and now changed their mind? Wow! That is unusual. As to your question "why do people want a yorkie and then change their mind?" Well, I don't know. I could never let mine go. But things happen. You said you rehomed your yorkie to these people too. So, sometimes there are reasons people cannot continue to take care of them. Who knows? At least they did the right thing and contacted you, so you could go get him. Too many just let pets go to another person or worse yet, to a shelter.
Good luck on settling in with your Yorkie again or finding a new forever home for him. I'll bet he is going to be so happy to see you. They never forget!
