Yes, I agree, though I would bet you can't get your deposit back! Wonder if your Vet would take the puppy in during the day hours for a few weeks while it grew some? It would cost more and the staff might not be able to take care of it constantly around the clock,but they could check on it. Yes, get an animal heating pad for pups, you don't want to fry it! I once saw pics of someone's female Yorky that had been put on a heating pad and it caused her skin to slough off. She lived through it but the owner learned the hard way! That is why she put the photos of the ordeal on her website! To teach others what to avoid.
If you have to absolutely pick up the puppy, do you have a friend or relative who could be responsible enough to take care of the puppy while you are at work? It will have to eat often and stay warm. It will sleep a lot until it gets older! I got my dog at 4 months and she slept a lot at first! Hope you have a carrier too? Puppy will crawl everywhere when it is awake and active.
