I would overlook that.

While a 12 hour fast isn't needed, the draws need to be pre meal and post meal. If she ate a couple hours before going, then there would be two post meals. An overnight fast (whether it is 12 hours or just 8 hours) seems sufficient to me.

I don't get why more vets don't go right to cysto.
It is so much easier than fighting with the pups.
I just told the vet last time that I didn't want to deal with catching it and end up missing and have to postpone the U/A. I just said I wanted it taken cysto and that's what they did.
Ok, that's good to know....I was beginning to worry I'd taken her to someone completely inept. But, Yorkie pups are so tiny I can see how a mistake could be made pretty easily.

That makes sense.....thanks for your reasoning on fasting! Sometimes you just need a different perspective.

I knew that you just go right to a cysto, which is one reason I requested that. And even though it's more invasive, I would think that scar tissue building up (which is what I think my vet said at some point) wouldn't be an issue, especially if you don't do it really frequently.

Also, for the record, the vet we'll be going to from now on unless there's an emergency....my old vet.....I have called him lots of times with questions even when my cats hadn't been in for quite awhile, and he always called me back to answer them. I even called him once to ask him about all the vaccination controversy when my dad got his puppy (long before I got Bella and long before I found YT ) and he called me back and talked it over with me. He is awesome!! I know it will be worth the drive and worth the extra money. (I do know he doesn't stay up to date on nutrition like he does all the other topics, but I have YOU for that and Dr. W too! )
