Anyway, I wouldn't put up with that. Vet care is very expensive (rightfully so) and you better get what you pay for. You shouldn't have been charged an office call for lab work unless she hadn't been seen recently. They could've charged you a hospitalization fee though and that would be considered fair. We just take Ellie home in between.
