First of all, what does the breeder have the puppy on? You don't want to bring her home and just switch foods, she may be on a good food now. My breeder uses purina pro plan and has alwyas had very good results with that. I actually just took my dogs off of taste of the wild(it's a 6 star food) as they have all been itching, and the yorkie has a rash, infected ears and looks terrible, so not always are the "best" foods the best if you know what I mean. The main thing is for a meat to be the first ingredient in the food you pick. I was trying to stay away from corn, but, after talking to my vet(she's only 25 and has done a lot of research on allergies), she has said that more dogs are actually allergic to the chicken, turkey, beef, etc. So, I just switched my little ones over to science diet natures variety lamb and brown rice. Well, should say I'm in the switching stage still since we just started it today. Good luck on whatever you decide. Can't wait to see your baby
