For tonight, no food or water. Lots of cuddles (this is for your benefit more than hers, lol).

For tomorrow, the usual advice. Make sure they use the right anesthetic (isoflourene - sp?), request that the VET put the tube down her throat (do NOT let the vet TECH do it). Ask whether they're using stitches or glue for the layer of skin closest to the outside. Will they suggest an "e" collar so as to not bother the stitches? They should send you home with post-operation instructions. No food or water until later at night (some suggest even the next day).

I went through this last month and I can honestly say that it was harder on me than on Lexi. When she awoke the next day, she was almost 100%!!!

I'm sure you'll receive more advice from the board members. Good Luck. We'll be thinking about you and waiting to hear that all went well.
